Ok so its been over a year since I posted anything on this blog. I have been busy though, Im a Grandad now...didnt see that coming! but my new grandson is absolutely beautiful so cant complain. Im typing this on a laptop, the old Dell desk top is gone, as are the entire contents of the spare room. Its a Babies room now of course. I managed to get Dreamweaver on my Laptop, though no Photoshop or Fireworks, so any recent modifications and additions will have a slightly different look. Since February last year I have added 88 postcards on the site so I have still been busy. One fair, Ebay, and of course Eric Briggs at Station Stamps in Gateshead. There seems to be a very few Gaynor Rowlands or Evie Greene cards around that I dont already have so I have extended the Gabrielle Ray and Installed an Lily Elsie section. There is a Postcard fair Im going to try to get to. Who knows someone might actually read this and may see you there. Ron.

Here I am Talking to myself again! Postcard frenzy last month, I made it to Durham on the 19th and bought about 30.Also a few on flea bay. I have noticed a couple more buyers of Actress cards lately, thankfully not of the actresses I collect. I have bought a couple more Actors cards lately and I fully intend to add more. I have already re-arranged the Actors page indeed I have been doing a little housework on my website as its near the theoretical limit of my allotted allowance. ( Postcard Event Horizon!) My IP have been very patient with me I think!

Im Sitting in my spare room on my old Dell Win XP desktop. Its the only one with Dreamweaver on. I cant afford a recent version for Win 8.1 or Win 10. Both our laptops get used by the girls anyhoo! Im drinking a large glass of Bowmore whisky and Im listening to a Teresa Stratas LP "The unknown Kurt Weill." 'Wie lange noch?' is belting out of my Mordaunt Shorts and Im striking appropriate dramatic poses and yes...I'm sure I'm straight!

The next postcard fair in Durham County Hall is on February the fourth. I shall try to get there Meanhile If there is anyone reading this, apart from myself that is, then Happy Christmas and Happier new Year. Dang!..No more Bowmore, Wait! There is some Balvenie 12 yo behind the Guitar Rack to my right ahr yup! got it, its a very small room!

I have added another Evie Greene page today. Unfortunately I dont have access to some of the software I used to, so some of the text designs are not the same.I'm using our new Laptop these days to go online but I have to use my old PC to work on this website then transfer it across, as the old software wont work on Windows 7. I will try to get my old software sorted so I can use it. But I certainly cant afford to buy the new versions. I have added some new cards today to the Gaynor Rowlands pages and Evie Greene ones. Some have been moved about to suit, but nothing has been removed!

Just a short message to say Im still around and that I'm buying and posting the occasional card. Nothing earth shattering as money is still tight!A few weeks ago I did manage to get to a local dealers house to buy som PC's and most of them are on the main site. I am going to try to get to the Durham Postcard Fair in the new year. See how it works out!

So I havn't been keeping the blog going! Driving lessons have been absorbing any money I have these days but I have managed to add a few PC's. There is a PC Fair coming up on the 20th of February. I honestly dont know if I can afford to go but I will try.

Well I made it to this quarter's fair. Cards seem to be a little more pricey this time. Took it easy. I did get a few lovelies. Picked up an autographed Evie Greene. I know I always think. "No more Gladys Cooper", but there was one I really liked. Ditto Gabrielle Ray.I cant resist a nice Marie Studholme either apparently. I also picked up a couple of cheapies for the Romance section. 10 bob each! Two Cute Cards

The nicest one must be the Gabby card though. Very nice.

So much for todays Postcard fair! Due to a small operation last month I am temporarily out of commision. I have added a couple of PC's from ebay in the last month but I havnt really been able to use the computer for three weeks. There is another one on the 28th of November i might try to make but its perilously close to Christmas. Ach well! Bought a new mandolin from the USA and it arrived the day after I came out of hospital. I couldn even play it untill last week arg! ( PS. Gottstraffe dem VAT und HM Customs!)

Not much action postcard wise in the last two months. I have had to concentrate on other matters but I did add two of the best cards I have ever bough ( Imho) One a Gaynor Rowlands and one an Ethel Oliver Bas Relief type. I had to miss one Postcard fair this year but I may make it to the next one in may. I have to decide between that and a Gary Moore Gig. Toughie!

Good Grief! 2009 already, well Happy New Year to all my readers. ( That will be just me then!) Last year was a funny un! Death and Disaster all round as reflected in the blog. This year may well be financially disasterous for the Post Card Collection. Nothing to do with the Credit Crunch, Just me stepping up my New Mandolin Savings fund. I still hope to get to the PC fairs though I will probebly have even less money to spend. E-bay will be rationed too! Still Blogs are free to write so Iwill have to try to keep this up more!Anyway...Four nice cards start me off this year I particularly like the Olga Nethersole one, and Carrie Moore showing her knees! What a naughty antipodean lady!

I have been running out of space on my website allocation and have had to erase some pages. Mostly stuff I had on for other people and particularly Image heave pages ( large jpgs ) There is probebly more stuff that can go as and when I need more space. The Postcards Come First!

I just have to say what a wonderfull Lily Brayton PPC I have just added to the collection. There is a nice Queenie Leighton card to and a new Mabel Green. There are some light marks on then and the Leighton one has a few light creases, but not enough to spoil my enjoyment of these great cards.

Well I made it to the Fair today. 25 new cards up on the site including two Bas Relief Cards. There is also a wonderfull K Scott Barrie and his Chantecleres card. Seem like a nice lot of boys! More Later.

The Gaynor Rowlands card I really hoped I would win on ebay is up on my website right now He he! No other bidders. Shame for Ray and Barbera...I had three times the winning bid on it just in case! It looks really good as a large Scan. I put another GR and a new Nina Sevening up there too.

Well a belated Merry Christmas and Happy new year to any browsers of this blog! As usual been V busy over the Christmas period, but have managed to find a couple of new cards over the month. One of my favourite for quite some time is the new Kitty Mason card.( Below) I have my eye on some very nice cards on e-bay though and there is a postcard fair in February. I have been putting a few pounds away for that each week ( Literally!) So fingers crossed, now that My music projects are winding down I may have a little more moulah to spend on PPC's this year!

Two new Evie Greene cards from ebay. V nice too. especially this one.

I decided to start a Page for Evie Greene, but instead of putting the link beside the actresses on the Postcard Pages title page I put it in the 'G' page. I originally thought as soon as I collected more than a dozen or so cards of one particular actress I would give her her own page. but as I have quite a few such actresses I didnt want to clutter up the RPP title page with link images. I will give this a go for a while

Well I cant believe its been so long since I wrote something here, but then again I havnt had much time for hobbies lately. I did however manage to make it to a Post Card Fair on the 26th!. 21 new cards added, including some cracking actors. also, the postcard below marks the 1000th Actress/actor Postcard on this site. There are of course more, but the Romance section is just an afterthought to the main purpose. Still...I think its an achievementof sorts. I may not be adding much in the coming months as my Bass Guitar amplifier has gone walkies and Im going to have to buy a new one. Well..I say that......!

There hasn't been many Nina Sevening cards I fancied lately at my usual sources, but I found a nice one on e-bay. She isnt a high priority Actress to collect for me, but Im glad to be able to add another card to her page. Originally I was only going to put my main three Actresses on the title page, but miss Sevening made it there, as the amount of her cards I have would have swamped the 'S' page. Also She was one of the first four postcards I ever bought!

A Couple of Bas Relief cards added to day . A nice Ethel Oliver and a Zena Dare. These type of cards never seem to scan well. They are always nicer in real life than they look on the webpage. The Ethel Oliver one if particularly effective. The scanner I have is led based I think, and these types of scanner never seem to scan deeply enough, unlike my old machine.

Four very nice new Mabel Greens today including a better version of one of my favourites and a Bas Relief card. I simply replaced the original card on the web page.

Well...I really did well at the PC fair! I didn't have as much to spend as usual but there was some real beaut's! My favourite being the Maud Darrell one. I'm already looking forward to the next fair on January the 20th.

Well ...Its been a while but due to circumsrances I wont go into here, I will be at that postcard fair. I havn't been buying much lately, Christmas approaching and all that! (A nice Maud Darling card though!) Wont have much dosh for Saturday either but its more of a challenge that way !

French Fred did me proud today with four lovely French ladies! Shame the Messages on the back are in French, might have been interesting to read. Two more UK actresses added too. I will have to start planning for the 25th Nov PC fair. Start a wee savings tin! Still Severely Skint! Here are Two of the French ladies.

Bit of a red letter day today. Recieved my first " Giant postcards " Five and a half inches by ten and a half inches! Two Lovely Mabel Green cards and a Sybil Arundale. I'm really happy with them! Super cards...Its a shame I have to watch my Webspace allowance or I would have posted them in all their glory life sized! Thing is....I cant fit them in my album pages! Have to engineer some big pockets to fit them in...Still...I'm as happy as a dog with two bones!. Here they are........

Viva la France! Today I have added four PC's of French " Actresses " to the Romance section. They are possibly dancers rather than actresses....I dont know! Nothing rude...just nice I dont know if I should start a different page for them and add a few more I'll have a think...well done Fred from France! Also a nice Evie Greene and an Ethel Oliver were added.

Two new cards today. A nice Sylvia Storey and an Evelyn Beresford ( Miss Split-ends 1906!) Have to wach out for the e-bay spending! been a bit naughty...Got a Flo Smithson autographed PC on the way Eek! £3.00 indeed.

Today I added some adverts scanned from Play Pictorial (1912) and Stage Souvenir (1903) I got as far as letter S, and will do the remaining letters as soon as I come across some more old Magazines. My favourite ad so far is from the Stage Souvenir. The Edison advert I placed on the 'J' Page. 1912 is well towards the back end of my period interest but still up there!

Today is the 100th anniversary of Gaynor Rowland death. I had a wee nip of whisky in her honour and had a browse through my album reading the messages on the back and tried to shift my mindset back a century! I remmember you pet!

Seven new PC's in the Actor's section today, including two nice Pantomime Dames. George Robey and Fred Emney. I though it was about time to add som more blokes! Also today I recieved a double volume of Play Pictorial from 1905. A wonderfull win from e-bay. Lots of pics of some of my favourite Actresses Im just going off to peruse it right now!

Well did I have a good day! 26 new additions for the collections including some really marvelous post cards. In particular the Clarita Vidal card is a beauty! One of the new Sylvia Storey cards is a real corker too.( See Below) There is a new Maud Fealy which I think is first class, and two new additions for the Gaynor Rowlands collection. All in all a good haul today. I need a beer now!

Added two nice cards to the Misc section . The 'Lena Ashwell and Ladies from Diana of Dobsons'[Link below] is really nice. The Collage is something I have seen around but have been waiting for the right price. (Aye!) I will get some more of these soon

PC Fair on Saturday. Looking forward to a good rummage! If there are few likable Actress cards ( Unlikely!) then i will buy expand the Romance section with some more Edwardian ladies, or as a last resort some actors!

Well what a disaster! The post card fair I was looking forward to on the 26th had been moved to the week before ! something about clashing with a Railway Exhibition, bloody train spotters! I managed to find out only the day before, that it had been changed in January! Nevermind! a quick visit to Eric's on friday saved the day. I managed to get a dozen cards from the boxes. They are a nice addition to my collection , including a Kemsley Scott-Barrie card... My decision to keep him in the ladies section is debatable...But I think its what he would have wanted!

Lovely new Nina Sevening card today! I missed this one last year at 4 times the price. More money saved for Saturday's PC fair! Over 718 Cards posted on my site now...crikey!

Pleasantly suprised with a Mabel Green card this morning! Forgot I won it on ebay. Very good nick, good quality photo. Scanned and uploaded within 15 minutes of recieving!

Bloomin 'eck! I actually won some PC's on ebay! One Seller wants a cheque for the dosh though, means a long wait! Mind you, there's a very nice Nina Sevening card at the end of the wait. There's a threesome coming from Wendy. A nice Gaynor Rowlands and a couple of Kathleen Courtney's ..(Envelope fillers!?)

Been buying in dribs and drabs lately. No local fairs, not much on the web to take me fancy...The Jean Aylwin one is very nice though . Unused, so no message for the nosey parker in me to read. Also the Denise Orme 1033 A is a very good profile close up.

The PC fair savings tin is getting a little bit more heavy... Eek! 2 weeks tommorow...I hope there arn't as many stall holders on holiday as there were at the last one I attended. I think they all went over to Tennerife together on a Swingers package holiday....well, maybe not!

Doh! I must be really slow. Some of the people leaving messages on my Guestbook are operating sites of a 'Dodgy' nature! you know smutty women with their tops off for the benefit of men of a hereto unheard of level of smuttyness! Well I know the cards here are mostly of women but really.....! I was aware of course of the pornographic side of Postcard history, but I hadnt really considered sexual aspect of the women on these pages ( Eh? I heard that!) I knew of course of a site featuring Actress postcards featuring opera gloves, but hadnt realised its connection with a wider 'fetish' theme Well It takes all sorts!
